Army Aviation pulls an incredible weight with their rotors, not just on the frontline but also in the rear. They belong not to the Air Force but to the Ground Forces, as their primary mission is infantry support.

The main combat vehicles of Army Aviation are the Mi-24 attack helicopter and the Mi-8 military transport helicopter. The former is primarily used for fire support, but since its cabin can accommodate up to eight people, it’s occasionally deployed for force transfer operations. The Mi-8 military transport helicopter, on the other hand, can both strike enemy targets and transport over 25 combat personnel or carry more than 13 tons of payload.
