The tradition of painting helmets, decorating them with patches, and customizing them to reflect personal identity is a relatively new one for our aviation forces. While unique artwork on pilots’ protective helmets did appear from time to time decades ago, only now has this practice truly become widespread.
We decided to tell you more about this phenomenon through the helmets of four pilots from the 12th Army Aviation Brigade: Qnesko, Bin, Hunter, and Bubi. They shared with us the stories behind their helmets’ designs — and we, in turn, are “retelling” them in our own way: through clothing, where every element and shade carries a special meaning.
Because, as we discovered, even when the creation of a pilot’s look begins with something seemingly small, the circumstances always give it deeper meaning.
That’s why behind every image and every tiny detail on a helmet lies the personal story of the pilot. These elements reveal how they see the world, what their character is like, what they love, who inspires them, and what keeps them motivated.
500 UAH from each T-shirt sold in this collection will be donated to support the 12th Army Aviation Brigade named after Colonel-General Viktor Pavlenko.
