People have always been attracted by the sky; they wanted to discover the world from a bird’s eye view. The desire to conquer the roof of heaven made them imitate the birds. This is how the planes, paraglide, hot air balloons appeared… Being fascinated with birds, the Ukrainians passed down legends and superstitions which exist till now:

The falcon “steals” hens so they call it “a village tax office”;

The cuckoo portends the weather, but for someone – the lifetime;

The eagle hunts for vipers so it is a symbol of victory of the goodness;

The owl is a forest inhabitant that is quiet at daytime and shouty at night;

The white stork brings children.
