AH_6c55b857-863c-11ef-9bca-00155dcd4802We continue to tell you about traditions of the new Ukrainian Army, including the art of helmet painting in the Army Aviation. There is a cigar and a helmet with the legendary Harry Potter spell (though slightly rephrased in the army’s way) of a pilot of the 12th Army Aviation Brigade named after Corporal General Viktor Pavlenko with the call sign BIN. And although Mr Dumbledore said that you cannot use magic outside Hogwarts, BIN and his brothers-in-arms prove the opposite during almost every combat mission!
AH_f8f33dce-8638-11ef-9bca-00155dcd4802From the first days of its existence to the present day (and that’s a whole decade!), Aviatsiya Halychyny has been inspired by the new Ukrainian Army, which is developing, growing in courage, and cherishing its traditions right before our eyes. And the polo with the identity of the 12th Army Aviation Brigade was one of the first things we used to talk about this new Army. Today, we are continuing our great tradition and presenting you the art of painting the helmets of this Brigade. The Venom chevron is based on the helmet of a Mi-24 attack helicopter pilot, call sign Qnesko, who defends Ukraine as part of the 12th Brigade of Army Aviation named after Corporal General Viktor Pavlenko. The exaggerated and Ukrainianised character from Marvel comics appeared on Qnesko's helmet as a drawing by his art teacher. In the original version of the helmet, the main highlight of the image is the yellow-blue eyes. As the pilot himself says, this Venom breaks out as soon as someone encroaches on Ukraine.
AH_5dc3a589-8492-11ef-9bc9-00155dcd4802This patch is dedicated to our friend and fellow soldier Artem Dymyd, who died in the war in June 2022. Artem, or, as everyone called him, friend Kurka, made a great contribution to the creation of Aviatsiya Halychyny and was once really into skydiving. He will forever remain in our memory as someone who lived life to the fullest and definitely had wings behind his back. In Artem’s memory, we created T-shirts and a patch with a quote from one of his favourite songs «Гей, браття – опришки» (‘Hey, Brothers, Opryshky’), namely: «Краще раз злетіти соколом у небі, аніж вічно жити в ярмі»( ‘It's better to fly like a falcon in the sky just once than to live in a yoke forever’).
